I leave Portland in less than 96 hours but instead of boxing up my personal belongings, I have been obsessing over my brand new Moo Mini Cards. They finished their two week journey from England to my mailbox earlier today.

I am hoping that during my travels of the next year I will meet at least a couple people along the way. With any luck, some of them will want to keep in touch with me. After forging these tight friendships, they’ll probably be embarrassed to ask, “What’s your name again?” To make sure we all save face, I’ll just slip them one of these little cards. The beauty of it is I can pretend I’m just giving them a tiny photograph. A 28mm x 72mm photograph to be exact.

I ordered a pack of 100 cards and was given the option of putting a different design on every single one. In the end I chose about 30 of my photos somehow related to traveling. There are also a couple with pictures of me for those new friends who wonder what I look like with a fake mustache or wouldn’t remember what I look like at all. Given the size and dimensions of the cards, I had to crop the pictures. Creating a satisfactory mis-en-scene out of a larger frame was a bit of a struggle, but mostly fun. Laying them across the scanner for this post was also a real hoot.
